Drones attack three oil tankers in Black Sea — Reuters
This was reported by Reuters, citing sources, according to Ukrinform.
According to the publication's sources, the tankers Delta Harmony, Delta Supreme, and Matilda were attacked on Tuesday as they were en route to the Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka terminal near Novorossiysk, where approximately 80% of Kazakh oil destined for international markets is loaded.
The first two vessels are operated by the Greek company Delta Tankers. The Matilda tanker is chartered by a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas and is operated by the Greek company Thenamaris.
According to Kazinform, citing KazMunayGas, the loading of the Matilda tanker with oil at the CPC terminal was scheduled for January 18, 2026.
It is noted that there were no casualties among the crew members. According to preliminary estimates, the ship remains afloat, and no severe damage was found during the initial inspection. The damage is currently being assessed.
It is not yet known who is responsible for the drone attacks.
As reported by Ukrinform, last week, the Palau-flagged oil tanker Elbus, which was heading to Novorossiysk, was attacked by drones in the Black Sea.
In December last year, SSU Sea Baby marine drones struck the Dashan oil tanker, which belongs to the Russian Federation's shadow fleet, in the Black Sea.
