As of the morning of December 16, the government-controlled part of the Donetsk region has been left completely without electricity as a result of Russian shelling.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by NPC Ukrenergo on its Facebook page.

“During the night, the enemy carried out attacks on energy facilities in several regions. As a result, by morning, all users in the government-controlled part of the Donetsk region were completely de-energized. Emergency repair and restoration works in the region have already begun. New power outages have also been recorded in Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions,” the statement said.

It is noted that power engineers are doing everything possible to restore the enemy-damaged equipment to operation as quickly as possible.

Electricity consumption as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday corresponds to the level of the previous day. At the same time, due to the consequences of earlier attacks, emergency power outages are being applied in the Kharkiv region. A return to scheduled outages will take place as soon as power engineers stabilize the situation.

“In regions where hourly power outages are being applied today, there remains a need for energy-saving consumption. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible. If feasible, shift energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours—after 11:00 p.m.,” Ukrenergo emphasized.

As reported, scheduled power outage timetables are being applied in most regions of Ukraine as of December 16.
