Adverse weather complicates defensive operation in Pokrovsk – military
This was reported by the 7th Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces on Telegram, as cited by Ukrinform.
“Dense fog, which persisted over the town throughout yesterday, significantly hampered the work of Ukrainian units, particularly aerial reconnaissance. It limits visibility and the ability to detect and destroy the enemy,” the military stated.
The corps noted that Russian invaders are attempting to take advantage of the reduced visibility to reinforce their forces, create cover within buildings, and prepare conditions for further advances. Under the cover of the fog, they can bring more personnel into the town.
Despite adverse weather, Ukrainian units within the 7th Corps’ area of responsibility continue to conduct aerial reconnaissance, adjust fire, and strike enemy groups.
Over the past two days, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 29 Russian soldiers in Pokrovsk and wounded nine more. Most of the invaders were neutralized in small-arms engagements.
The Defense Forces continue to hold back Russian troops along the entire frontline within the corps’ area of responsibility.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, since the beginning of the day, 157 clashes have occurred between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders. The enemy continues to focus its efforts on the Pokrovsk front, while showing increased activity in the Oleksandrohrad sector.
