Poland postpones launch of four military satellites

According to Ukrinform, the spokesman for the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, Colonel Marek Pietrzak, stated this, Interia.pl reports.

According to Pietrzak, the Polish side received information about the postponement of the satellite launch from the U.S. private aerospace company SpaceX, which is to place these satellites into orbit.

The four military satellites were to be launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California as part of the Transporter-15 mission.

The launch of the four satellites is taking place within the framework of the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces.

The four military satellites are planned to be launched under two separate space programs: MikroSAR and PIAST. The MikroSAR program, valued at 860 million zł (around $240 million), aims to launch three satellites for Earth-surface observation. In turn, the PIAST program, valued at 70 million zł (around $20 million), provides for the launch of three nanosatellites.

As reported by the agency, on Poland’s Independence Day, 11 November, the use of drones will be prohibited in Warsaw from early morning until late evening.
