Schoolgirl from Rivne wins competition in U.S.

Kateryna Kravchenko, a schoolgirl from Rivne, won the GENIUS Olympiad in the U.S. in the Art category.

According to Ukrinform, Andrii Karaush, chairman of the Rivne Regional Council, announced this on Telegram.

“Kateryna Kravchenko has completed her 8th-grade studies. The girl is passionate about environmental issues. And now she has won ‘gold’ at the international finals of the GENIUS Olympiad in the U.S.—a world-class competition and an incredible achievement for the Rivne region,” the message reads.

It is reported that she competed in the Art category, where she presented her work, Destruction of Natural Landscapes Due to Illegal Amber Mining, created using mixed techniques.

According to the student’s mother, her daughter was inspired to create the work by what she saw firsthand at amber mining sites.

As reported by Ukrinform, an Olympiad in the Ukrainian language and literature was held in Chisinau.
