In Kharkiv region, Russians attempt to intensify pressure but make no significant gains – Tregubov

Russian occupation forces are actively attempting to advance in the Kharkiv region and along the Velykyi Burluk sector, but are not achieving any significant success.

According to a Ukrinform’s correspondent reports, Victor Tregubov, Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Task Force, reported this during a television broadcast.

“There are no significant advances [in the Kharkiv region], despite rather active attempts. The hottest spots are, first of all, Vovchansk and Kupiansk. There is also the Velykyi Burluk sector, which is not often mentioned, but the Russians are actively trying to push through there,” said Tregubov.

According to the Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Task Force, there are no large settlements along the Velykyi Burluk sector, so fighting takes place mainly in open fields and near small villages. Meanwhile, Russian occupiers attempted to intensify pressure in the city of Vovchansk.

“The Russians [in Vovchansk] have indeed made a serious attempt, even though fighting there has been ongoing for several years, to increase pressure. However, the Belgorod Dam somewhat disrupted their plans, not completely stopped them, but disrupted, and in a certain sense, it bought time and opportunity for the Ukrainian forces,” Tregubov noted.

He also pointed out that constant assaults continue in the Lyman sector, though the fighting there remains positional, with both sides engaged. At present, weather conditions complicate the enemy’s ability to actively employ small assault group tactics.

“If, within a week or two, they [the Russians] don’t pull off some kind of miracle, it will become more difficult for them going forward at least until spring, when the greenery returns,” the spokesperson explained.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, there were 162 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian troops over the past day, with the enemy exerting its main pressure along the Pokrovsk sector.
