Russia strikes minibus with drone in Sumy region, injury toll rises to 12, one killed
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"The number of injured as a result of the enemy strike on a minibus in the Sumy district has increased to ten. Two of the wounded — a child and an adult — are in serious condition. Doctors are fighting for their lives," Hryhorov said.
According to him, among the injured are two children aged 15 and 8. All victims are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
"Traffic restrictions are in place on this section of the road. It is a high-risk area that the enemy has repeatedly attacked with drones. A detour plan for passenger transport has been developed and approved. Alternative, safer routes have been communicated to transport operators," he added.
Hryhorov noted that ignoring these safety rules endangers lives and expressed confidence that law enforcement will properly assess this incident.
"Doctors are currently examining three more injured people after a Russian UAV hit a passenger minibus in the Sumy district. Thus, the number of injured in the Russian attack has risen to 13," Hryhorov later reported on Telegram.
According to him, among the wounded are ten women, one man, and two children.
"As of 20:40, it is known that a 69-year-old man was killed as a result of the drone attack on the minibus," the Prosecutor's Office said in a Facebook statement.
As Ukrinform previously reported, a Russian drone struck a minibus in the Sumy region, injuring five people, including a child.
