Chernihiv and part of region without power: Russians target heat supply and energy facilities

According to Ukrinform, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, reported this on Telegram.

According to him, the region has suffered a massive attack by strike drones. According to consolidated data from the Air Defense Forces and the Defense Forces, 51 air targets were recorded during the day, including two ballistic missiles.

According to Chaus, there were two hits by Shahed drones: a heating facility and an energy facility in two communities in the Chernihiv district were damaged. “As a result, the power supply in Chernihiv and the northern communities of the region has been cut off. Our energy specialists are working on restoration,” he said.

Critical infrastructure has been switched to generators. Some emergency centers have been deployed. In the event of a longer power outage, additional centers will be deployed, the Head of the Regional Military Administration said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the evening of October 20, as a result of Russian strikes, the power system in the Chernihiv region was damaged, and there was no electricity supply in several settlements.
