Massive Russian strike traps 192 miners underground at DTEK mine in Dnipropetrovsk region

Russia carried out a massive attack on a DTEK coal mine in Dnipropetrovsk region, where 192 miners were underground at the time. Evacuation efforts are ongoing.

That is according to DTEK Group on Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.

“On the eve of the heating season, the enemy once again struck at Ukraine’s energy sector. During the attack, 192 mine employees were underground. The evacuation of our colleagues to the surface is underway,” the company stated.

DTEK noted that this was already the fourth large-scale Russian attack on the company’s coal enterprises in the past two months.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on October 18, emergency power outages were implemented in Dnipropetrovsk region due to ongoing Russian attacks.
