Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia leaves 21 injured

Russian forces launched at least eight strikes on Zaporizhzhia, leaving 21 people injured.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported this at the site of one of the strikes, according to Ukrinform.

"Overnight, the enemy carried out at least eight strikes on Zaporizhzhia, beginning at 01:00 and continuing until 05:30. The largest number of casualties was recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district," Fedorov said.

A missile hit an apartment building, injuring 16 people, including three children. Doctors are providing all necessary medical assistance.

Rescue operations are ongoing.

At this time, there is no information that people remain inside the destroyed or damaged apartments, but specialists are checking everything, Fedorov added.

Later, Fedorov confirmed that the total number of injured had risen to 21, with two in serious condition.

As reported earlier, 14 apartment blocks and nine private houses were damaged in Zaporizhzhia as a result of Russia's overnight strikes on September 28.
