War update: 160 clashes on frontline, Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors most intense
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted an update on Facebook regarding the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25.
The enemy launched four missiles and 68 air strikes, using six missiles and dropping 136 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the Russians carried out 5,082 shellings, including 115 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,846 kamikaze drones to strike targets.
The Russian army carried out air strikes on the areas of Shypuvate in the Kharkiv region, Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk in the Donetsk region, Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Olhivka in the Kherson region.
The aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck three areas where personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, as well as an artillery unit, a command post, an ammunition depot, and a Russian UAV command post.
Ukrainian soldiers repelled six enemy attacks in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. The Russian army carried out 13 air strikes, using 26 guided bombs, and carried out 186 shellings, including eight with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy twice stormed near Vovchansk.
Six Russian attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector. Defense Forces repelled assaults near Kotliarivka, Lozova, and toward Pishchane and Kolisnykivka.
The enemy attacked 25 times in the Lyman sector. They attempted to break through the defenses near Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Shandryholove, Novoselivka, Derylove, and Zarichne.
In the Siversk sector, Russian troops made seven attempts to break through in the areas of Serebrianka and toward Dronivka and Yampil.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders attacked four times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Stupochky.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 10 attacks near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Yablunivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 49 assaults in the areas of Poltavka, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Sukhetske, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Horikhove.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy carried out 13 attacks near Voskresenka, Sichneve, Vorone, Ternove, and Novohryhorivka.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces repelled four attempts by enemy units to advance in the Olhivske area.
The Defense Forces repelled a Russian attack in the Orikhiv sector, toward Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy made three unsuccessful attempts to advance.
No signs of Russian offensive groups forming have been detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of September 25, the Defense Forces shot down a Russian Su-34 aircraft in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
