In Poland, military shot down all drones that violated country's airspace
This was reported by Polish Radio, according to Ukrinform.
Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the drones, “which could have posed a threat, were shot down” and that territorial defense forces were deployed to search for debris. He interrupted his visit to London to return to Warsaw.
It is noted that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened an emergency meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers at 8 a.m.
The authorities urged the public not to approach the drone fragments or move them, and to report any findings to the police.
The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command said the intrusion occurred during Russia's nighttime attack on Ukraine and confirmed that Polish and allied aircraft had been scrambled. According to the military, several airports, including Warsaw and Rzeszów, were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure.
It is noted that police, border guards, and firefighters were put on high alert throughout eastern Poland.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that units from the Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Mazowieckie, and Podkarpackie provinces had been mobilized.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tusk said that the military opened fire on “objects” that violated Polish airspace on the night of September 10.
