Cinematographer Denis Ponomarenko killed in war
According to Ukrinform, Starlight Media announced this on Facebook.
Denis died on September 7 in the Kharkiv region while performing a combat mission.
As noted by the company, in February 2022, with the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Denis volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He commanded a mortar crew and received two honorary awards.

Ponomarenko worked at Starlight Media from 2009 to 2021, serving as a cameraman and director of photography for a number of projects, including Battle of the Psychics, X Factor, Ukraine's Got Talent, “Everybody Dance,” “Phenomenon,” “KUB,” “Lie Detector,” “Three Hearts,” “Mole,” and “Psychics Investigate.”
Denis Ponomarenko is survived by his wife, Inna Zykova, editor of the projects Supermom and Love for Survival, and their son.
As reported by Ukrinform, Alexander Holyachenko, a journalist for the online publication Nash Kyiv, was killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
