General Staff confirms strike on Ryazan oil refinery and several other Russian targets

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the strike on the Ryazan oil refinery in Russia and several other facilities.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the AFU reported this on Facebook.

On the night of September 5, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Ryazan oil refinery.

According to preliminary data, a hit was recorded on the ELOU-AVT-6 (Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery) primary oil refining unit, with an estimated capacity of 6 million tons of oil per year.

“The Ryazan oil refinery, with a design capacity of 17.1 million tons of oil per year, is among the four largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. It produces gasoline of various grades, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied gases, and other petroleum products. The facility is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army,” the General Staff commented.

In addition, Special Operations Forces units delivered fire damage to the positions of two divisions of the S-400 Triumf SAM system in Russia’s Kaluga region. According to preliminary reports, hits were recorded on a command-and-staff vehicle and a control point.

Moreover, the Security Service of Ukraine units successfully attacked a warehouse of engineering munitions and drones of Russian troops in the area of temporarily occupied Luhansk. Secondary detonations and a subsequent fire occurred at the facility.

As reported by Ukrinform, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”) confirmed strikes on the oil refinery in Ryazan and the oil depot in Luhansk.
