Russian drone strike kills 12-year-old boy in Sumy region, another teen injured

A Russian drone strike in Ukraine's Sumy region has killed a 12-year-old boy and injured two other teenagers.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

" At around 14:30, the enemy attacked the Svesa community. Two teenagers near the impact site were injured. A 12-year-old boy died before medics arrived," the statement reads.

A 13-year-old boy was also wounded in the attack and hospitalized with shrapnel injuries. Doctors are currently fighting to save his life.

Authorities are working to establish the full circumstances of the tragedy.

Russian forces shelled the Sumy region more than 70 times on August 1, injuring one civilian.
