Russia claims to have shot down 74 drones in five regions
According to Ukrinform, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have shot down 74 drones during the night.
The aggressor country's ministry claims that 43 drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, 22 UAVs over the Rostov region, six drones over the Kaluga region, two drones over the Smolensk region, and one more drone over the Leningrad region.
According to the Russian BBC service, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar said that one person was killed as a result of the drone strike on Salsk. He reported that UAV attacks were repelled in Kamensko-Shakhtinsky, Volgodonsk, as well as in the Bokovsky and Tarasovsky districts of the region.
The head of the region reported that a fire broke out at the railway station and a passenger train was moved to a safe distance.
Later it became known that traffic through the Salsk station had been suspended. The Russian Railways company said that traffic had been suspended due to falling UAV debris, noting that a freight train had caught fire at the station and the windows of two passenger train cars had been knocked out.
The North Caucasus Railway also reported delays to nine trains traveling from the Volga region, the Urals, and Siberia to the Krasnodar region and in the other direction.
Videos taken by local residents show the drone hitting the station, the explosion, and a large fire.
The Astra Telegram channel published videos showing the aftermath of the drone attack on the railway station in Salsk and the power substation in the village of Orlovsky in the Rostov region.
A video showing the moment of impact in Salsk was also released.
In addition, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said that one drone was allegedly shot down in the Kingiseppsky District. This district, in Ust-Lug, is home to a large Russian port on the Gulf of Finland. According to the head of the region, there was no damage or casualties.
As reported by Ukrinform, on Sunday, the airport in the Leningrad region of Russia was suspended due to a drone attack, and local residents complained about the lack of mobile internet.
