Ukraine downs 54 Russian drones overnight

Ukraine’s Defense Forces have neutralized 54 drones launched by the Russian military in attacks on Ukraine since the evening.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

According to the military, starting from 18:30 on Thursday, July 24, Russian forces launched a total of 63 aerial attack weapons against Ukraine:

  • two ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M / KN-23 type, launched from Russia’s Voronezh region;
  • 61 attack drones, including Shahed-type UAVs and various decoy drones, launched from Russian cities including Bryansk, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Preliminary data as of 9:00 on Friday indicate that Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or jammed 54 Shahed-type enemy drones (and drones of other types) over the northern and eastern regions of the country.

In four locations, seven enemy drones managed to hit targets. In two additional locations, the wreckage of downed drones caused damage.

According to earlier reports, overnight on July 25, Ukrainian air defense shot down seven Russian drones over Dnipropetrovsk region. However, some strikes were recorded in Synelnykove district.
