Around 284,000 civilians remain in Donetsk region – regional administration

About 284,000 civilians, including nearly 22,000 children, remain in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk region, where mandatory evacuation is still ongoing.

Dmytro Petlin, head of the operational duty service, communications, alert, and public information department of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, stated this during an online briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"Evacuations continue, and as of April 1, more than 1.216 million civilians have been evacuated from the Ukrainian-controlled part of the region. This includes 189,700 children and approximately 46,500 individuals with disabilities. Currently, around 284,000 civilians remain," Petlin said.

He specified that among those still in the region, 21,940 are children.

The mandatory evacuation of civilians in the Donetsk region has been in place since August 2, 2022.
