In Kharkiv region, Russian forces attempting to cross the Oskil River are using a new tactic — they have begun to accompany infantry groups with reconnaissance and strike drones.

This was shared by Spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group Pavlo Shamshyn during a television broadcast, as reported by Ukrinform.

According to Shamshyn, the Russians "can only cross to our side of the Oskil with infantry groups." They are unable to actively use armored vehicles on the right bank of the Oskil River. However, when enemy infantry groups do manage to reach the other bank, they are actively supported by strike drones and artillery.

Shamshyn further noted: "It’s worth mentioning that they have started using a rather interesting tactic, which, while not a huge surprise for us, is something they hadn’t done before. Specifically, when an infantry group moves forward, two drones follow: one is for reconnaissance, and the other is a strike drone."

He explained that when the enemy group encounters resistance from Ukrainian infantry, they use the strike drone, while the reconnaissance UAV can also help to adjust artillery fire.

At the same time, Shamshyn assured that the Russians have not been successful, as the Ukrainian Defense Forces are repelling their attacks.

As reported, Russian forces are actively attempting to move equipment to the western bank of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk sector of the front.
