Oil refinery attacked in Leningrad region at night

On the night of March 8, the Kyryshynaftaorgsintez oil refinery in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation was attacked.

According to Ukrinform, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, reported this in Telegram.

According to Kovalenko, the plant is located more than 800 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Kyryshynaftaorgsintez oil refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. The refining capacity is about 20.1 million tons of oil per year, making it the second largest in Russia after the Omsk refinery.

The refinery specializes in the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil and other petroleum products.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, attacked a refinery in Syzran and oil pumping infrastructure in Rostov Region on the night of March 4.
