Russian SRG attempts to break through in Sumy region

A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group (SRG) attempted to infiltrate Seredyna-Buda community in Shostka district of Sumy region. A combat engagement took place, forcing the saboteurs to retreat with losses.

This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration on Facebook following a meeting of the region's Defense Council, as relayed by Ukrinform.

"An attempt by an enemy SRG to enter Shostka district, specifically Seredyna-Buda community, was recorded. As a result of the combat engagement, the saboteurs retreated with losses," the statement reads.

Military leadership informed council members that, as of Thursday, March 6, there have been no recorded border crossing by Russian forces in Sumy region.

Infantry groups of Russian forces continue attempts to infiltrate the region but face comprehensive firepower from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Defense Forces, employing all available means and resources.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces are trying to penetrate Sumy region in an effort to disrupt Ukrainian military logistics routes toward Kursk region.
