Russian aviation intensifies airstrikes in Chernihiv region – border guards
According to Ukrinform, Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported this on TV.
"The enemy has significantly intensified airstrikes in Chernihiv region, but Russians still carry out most attacks using artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)," Demchenko informed.
He also noted that enemy continues to actively use aviation in Sumy region.
"When it comes to the border with the terrorist state, unfortunately, the enemy continues to shell Ukrainian border areas daily, particularly in Sumy region, which, sadly, suffers the most from these attacks," he stated.
At the same time, the Spokesperson reported that in areas where the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting offensive operations beyond Ukraine’s borders, the number of enemy attacks has decreased due to Russia’s inability to use artillery effectively.
"We are not observing any unusual situations directly along the border with Russia, including in Sumy. Previously, the enemy attempted to approach our border flanks in Kursk region, where Ukraine's Defense Forces are operating. Fortunately, this is no longer the case. The enemy has realized it cannot expand active combat zones," Demchenko concluded.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, most attacks on Sumy and Chernihiv regions are conducted with artillery systems and drones.
