
President promotes SBU head Maliuk to Lieutenant General

President Volodymyr Zelensky promoted the chief of the Security Service of Ukraine, Major General Vasyl Maliuk, and his deputy, Brigadier General Oleksandr Poklad.
The corresponding decrees were published on the president’s website on Saturday, Ukrinform reports.
By Decree 3/2024, the president promoted Vasyl Maliuk to the rank of Lieutenant General.
By Decree 4/2024, Zelensky promoted Oleksandr Poklad to Major General.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Zelensky in December conferred on three Ukrainian officers the military rank of Brigadier General.
Vasyl Maliuk has been at the helm of Ukraine's Security Service since February 7, 2023. Prior to that, he had served as the agency's acting chief since July 18, 2022.
