Australia provides Ukraine with $12 million military aid package

The Australian government is allocating a new military aid package to Ukraine in the amount of 20 million Australian dollars (12 million US dollars).

This was reported by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Ukrinform reported.

“Today we announced that Australia will deliver an additional $20 million of defence assistance to Ukraine, to come in the form of innovative and locally-developed industry equipment”, he said.

The Canberra Times notes that the new aid package will include demining equipment, portable X-ray machines, a 3D metal printer, and anti-drone systems developed by Australian companies DroneShield, Micro-X, Minelab, and SPEE3D.

The government will also send a Royal Australian Air Force E-7A Wedgetail aircraft to Germany to support international humanitarian and military assistance efforts in Ukraine.

Defense Industry Minister Pat Conroy thanked Australian companies for their work in assisting Ukraine.

As reported, in the summer, the Australian government provided Ukraine with an aid package worth $73.5 million, including 70 pieces of military equipment to protect against Russian invasion.
