Russian army shells Ukrainian positions in Kupiansk direction 508 times - Cherevatyi

In Kupiansk direction, Russian forces fired 508 times at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and used combat aircraft 14 times over the past day.

Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Cherevatyi said this on the air of the national telethon "United News", Ukrinform reports.

"During this day, Russians tried to storm our positions 12 times in the area of Petropavlivka, Sinkivka, and Pershotravneve in Kupiansk direction. It was in vain. They used all types and calibers of artillery, fired at our positions 508 times, and engaged combat aircraft and helicopters 14 times," Cherevatyi said.

According to the spokesman, 34 invaders were killed and 82 wounded while repelling the enemy attacks. The spokesperson also noted that Ukrainian defenders shot down the latest enemy T-90 tank, destroyed two mortars, and a dugout with personnel.

As Ukrinform reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 250,240 Russian invaders from February 24, 2022, to August 7, 2023, including 540 people over the past day.
