In the south, Ukrainian service members continue their gradual movement to the south and southeast and advance several hundred meters every day.

Colonel Mykola Urshalovych, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning for the Engagement of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine, said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to his information, units of the 15th operational brigade together with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive in Melitopol direction.

"In extremely difficult conditions of mined terrain and enemy fire... our assault groups, supported by tanks and artillery, continue their gradual movement to the south and southeast, pushing the invaders out of Ukrainian land. Our soldiers and officers are literally gnawing their way through the enemy's defense lines. Assault groups operate in clear interaction with other units. Here I would like to praise our engineering units which ensure success during offensive operations with their courageous and professional actions. Every day we advance by several hundred meters," Urshalovych said.

As noted, the National Guard units gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers and do not allow the enemy to regain lost positions with the help of counterattacks.

The representative of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine said that their aerial reconnaissance had been actively working in this direction last week, detecting the positions of the enemy's fire and EW systems.

"Most of the targets were hit according to the determined coordinates. Thus, the exact location of the R330 Zhitel electronic warfare jamming communication station was established, after which it was destroyed," he said.

As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers in Berdiansk and Melitopol directions.
