Russian armed aggression affects over 1,545 children in Ukraine
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“More than 1,545 children in Ukraine have been affected by Russian armed aggression over the past 500 days. As of July 8, 2023, according to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 494 children were killed and over 1,051 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.
These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (472), Kharkiv region (297), Kyiv region (129), Kherson region (115), Zaporizhzhia region (91), Mykolaiv region (89), Dnipropetrovsk region (83), Chernihiv region (71), and Luhansk region (67).
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russia started an unprovoked, barbaric full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian invaders expected to complete the so-called ‘special operation’ within a few weeks, but the war has been lasting for 500 days now.
