Fifteen enemy assaults repelled near Maryinka

"The hottest direction, if we talk about defense, is Avdiyivka. There, the enemy continues assault operations with the task of capturing Maryinka and Avdiyivka. The assaults were repelled, and positions were not lost. Fifteen assaults took place in Maryinka area alone. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 10 kamikaze drone strikes. Avdiyivka area was struck the most. In addition, the enemy used an aircraft to support one of the attacks here. Ten surrounding settlements were shelled," Shershen said during the United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, in Melitopol direction, the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian strike units. Here, in one of the defense lines, the enemy received reinforcement in the form of a 2S7 Pion artillery battery. In Berdiansk direction, the Russians try to hold the lines and carry out certain counterattacks.

"Heavy battles are going on, our strike units have a certain advance, gain a foothold on what they have achieved, carry out demining, aerial reconnaissance of the area, and fire artillery on identified enemy targets," the spokesman added.

At the same time, he noted that it is not time yet to announce how many meters or kilometers Ukraine has regained.

"To sum up, 19 combat engagements took place in the area of responsibility of the Tavria group last day. Using tanks, rocket launchers, and barrel artillery, the enemy launched 562 strikes on our positions," Shershen added.
