Nearly 1,500 Russian troops are stationed in Belarus, while the creation of an offensive group there is not observed.

"Fortunately, their number is small as of now. That is, we do not record the fact that Russia has enough forces in the territory of Belarus to carry out a repeated invasion of the territory of Ukraine from this direction. Even early this year and at the end of last year, the number of Russian military personnel in the territory of Belarus was about 10,000-11,000. At the moment, we observe this number at the level of 1,500 service members," Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said during the United News national telethon.

According to him, the number has increased insignificantly recently, by about 500 people.

As reported, as of June 7, there were about 1,000 Russian military personnel in Belarus.
