Maliar: Military operation in south has several tasks, and Ukrainian troops perform them
"It is necessary to understand that the enemy will not give up positions easily. And we have to realize that it will be a very tough duel, in fact, what is going on now. And we must not measure the effectiveness only in kilometers or the number of settlements because the ongoing operation has several tasks and the military performs these tasks. Actually, they are moving the way they were supposed to move, and the biggest results are yet to come," Maliar said on the air of the United News telethon, commenting on the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south.
She noted that it is difficult for the Ukrainian military to advance because the enemy is "thoroughly preparing and resisting."
"Speaking of the south, our Armed Forces face continuous minefields, the use of kamikaze drones and anti-tank guided missiles by the enemy," the deputy minister added.
As reported, Ukrainian troops liberated eight settlements over the two weeks of offensive operations in Berdiansk and Melitopol directions.
