Ukrainian troops advanced in several areas in Bakhmut direction – MoD
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to her, in the east of Ukraine, the Russians undertook many efforts to stop the advance of Ukrainian forces in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy redeployed additional units there and increased the number of shelling.
"The overall intensity of the fighting in this direction decreased last week, however, battles continued - 41 combat engagements took place and our troops advanced deep into the direction of the enemy in several areas," Maliar emphasized.
In addition, last week the enemy continued to advance in the Lyman-Kupiansk, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. "We did not lose a single meter of land in these directions thanks to the professionalism and courage of our fighters," she assured.
Over the past week in the east, Russian troops launched more than 5,800 strikes and used 277,220 rounds of ammunition, Maliar added.
As reported by Ukrinform, according to Maliar, in the course of two weeks of offensive actions in the Berdiansk and Melitopol directions, the Ukrainian soldiers liberated eight settlements, including Piatykhatky, as well as Novodaryivka, Levadne, Storozheve, Makarivka, Blahodatne, and Lobkove.
