Russian occupation forces are continuing to mine hydraulic structures in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Kherson regions.

Colonel Ruslan Berehulia, head of the Environmental Safety and Mine Action Department of the Ministry of Defense, said this at a briefing in Kyiv, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Since May of this year, Russian troops have been mining hydraulic structures in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Kherson regions, and have also started flooding agricultural fields to create artificial obstacles for the Defense Forces of Ukraine," Berehulia said.

He reminded that due to the complete destruction of the Kakhovka HPP, the water flow from the Kakhovka reservoir is expected to be about 80% of the total volume.

"This can and will lead to serious consequences. As of today, the Kakhovka reservoir has already become shallow by more than 70%," the Defense Ministry representative said.
