Ukraine’s Air Force delivers eight strikes on Russian positions - General Staff

Throughout the day, Ukraine’s Air Force eight times struck enemy clusters, while rocket and artillery forces hit the position of the enemy air defense system and three e-warfare stations.

That’s according to an evening update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

The Russian army continues to focus its main efforts on offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka directions. Ukraine’s defense forces repelled over 35 enemy attacks in the said areas.

Russian troops carried out two missile and 34 air strikes, as well as more than 36 attacks using MLR systems.

The General Staff emphasizes that the likelihood of further Russian missile and air strikes remains high throughout the territory of Ukraine.

According to the Armed Forces, the operational situation in the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions has not undergone any significant changes as no signs of any offensive groupings being formed were detected.

Hremiach in Chernihiv region, Seredyna-Buda, Baranivka, Bezsalivka, Volfine, Turya, and Vysoke in Sumy region, Veterynarne, Vilkhivka, Ternova, Vovchansk, Karaichne, and Chuhunivka in Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy shelling.

Kolodyazne, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Krokhmalne, Kindrashivka, Pischane, and Berestove of e Kharkiv region were hit by Russian artillery in the Kupiansk direction.

In the Lyman direction, the Russians launched unsuccessful offensive operations in the area south of Kuzmyne and Verkhnyokamianske. Cherneshchyna of Kharkiv region, Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka of Luhansk region, and Yampolivka, Torske, Siversk, and Spirne of Donetsk region were hit by enemy artillery.

In the direction of Bakhmut, Russian troops pursue their offensive, trying to take full control of the city of Bakhmut, where the fighting continues. During the day, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bohdanivka. Nearly 10 enemy attacks were repelled by Ukrainian Defense Forces on the indicated section of the front line.

Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Zaliznyanske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochki, Bila Hora, and Druzhba of Donetsk region were affected by the Russian shelling.

On the Avdiyivka and Maryinka axes, the enemy had no gains in their offensive efforts in the Novokalynove, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Maryinka areas. The fiercest battles on the indicated section of the front continue for Maryinka, where Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 10 enemy attacks.

At the same time, the Russians shelled Novokalynove, Kamianka, Stepove, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Severne, Netaylove, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, and Paraskoviivka in Donetsk region.

The Russian army conducted no offensive operations in the Shakhtarske direction. At the same time, the invaders shelled Novomykhailivka, Shakhtarske, Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Novomayorske in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops continue to build up defensive lines and positions in terms of their further fortification. Settlements bordering the battle line were hit by enemy artillery.

Among those shelled are Vremivka and Novopil of Donetsk region, Novosilka, Olhivske, Malynivka, Chervone, Hulyaipole, Charivne, and Mala Tokmachka of Zaporizhia region, as well as Kherson, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Beryslav, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, and Dniprovske of Kherson region.

According to the General Staff, the Russian invaders continue to suffer significant losses. To replenish their units, the Russian command decided to hold early graduations from higher military educational facilities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kostroma, Penza, Omsk, Tyumen, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Volsk, and Blagoveshchensk on April 29, 2023.

It has been established that graduations from facilities, which prepare specialists for military units of strategic missile forces, aerospace forces, and naval forces will be held in accordance with previously planned schedules.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the air defense forces destroyed the Supercam reconnaissance drone operated by Russian invaders in Mykolaiv region.
