Russians attempting to advance in Avdiivka, Bakhmut directions - war update

The enemy is concentrating its efforts on restraining the actions of Ukraine’s forces, while the Russian offensive continues in the Avdiivka and Bakhmut directions, where aviation is being actively used to support ground groups.

That’s according to a war update by Ukraine’s General Staff, Ukrinform reports.

Throughout the day, the occupiers launched two missile strikes and more than 10 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukraine’s troops and settlements along the contact line. Once again, the civilian infrastructure objects in the cities of Nikopol and Kherson were hit.

A threat of enemy missile strikes on the objects of the Ukraine’s power system and critical infrastructure across the territory of Ukraine remains in place.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation has not changed significantly as no signs of any enemy offensive groups have been detected.

In the Siverskskyi direction, the enemy shelled the settlements of Sopych, Svarkove, and Zarutske of Sumy region, employing mortars.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy continues to hold its troops in the border areas of Russia’s Belgorod region. In particular, the Shevchenko, Strileche, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Mala Vovcha, Dvorichna, and Bohdanivske districts of Kharkiv region were shelled by artillery of various calibers.

The enemy is on defense in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions. The areas of the settlements of Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove and Vyshneve of Kharkiv region came under fire from tanks and artillery; as well as Makiivka and Ploschanka in Luhansk region and Yampolivka in Donetsk oblast.

In the Bakhmut and Avdiivka areas, the enemy forces are concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations and trying to improve their tactical position. The populated areas of Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Kurdyumivka, Avdiyivka, Vodyane, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk oblast were shelled by tanks and the wide range of artillery.

The enemy is defending in the Novopavlivka direction, firing mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Neskuchne, Zolota Nyva and Prechystivka in Donetsk region.

The enemy is running defensive operations in the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions. Artillery shelling was recorded in the areas of more than 25 settlements near the contact line. These include Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, and Kherson.

The occupiers restrict the rights and freedoms of civilians in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. Thus, under the guise of measures to combat subversive reconnaissance groups, the occupiers set up a roadblock on the Chaika River and blpcked the passage of civilian boats.

In the temporarily occupied Skadovsk district, postmen stopped delivering payments to pensioners. In order to receive pensions, invaders force the elderly to file applications and obtain in post offices passports of the Russian Federation.

The enemy continues to suffer losses in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. It is known that medical facilities in Donetsk are at full capacity. Scheduled operations for civilian patients have been postponed indefinitely, while no more WIAs are being accepted. Up to 300 wounded Russian occupiers have been brought to Novopskov Territorial Medical Association of the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.
