Russian troops fired at a convoy of civilian cars moving along a dirt road to Zaporizhzhia.

"Yesterday, on the Road of Life in the village of Kamyanske, the occupiers opened fire on a convoy of civilian cars, which the rescuers were towing away from the dirt road to enable them to continue moving to the regional center. People, fleeing the war, were heading to Zaporizhzhia but got trapped on a washed-out road due to bad weather," the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

During the shelling, rescuers evacuated passengers and drivers to the nearest shelters.

The rescue operation lasted three hours. Fortunately, no one was injured. After the end of the shelling, all cars continued moving to their destination. The smallest Ukrainian saved by the State Emergency Service was only two months old.

In total, rescuers managed to tow away 14 vehicles on the Road of Life, saving 49 citizens, including 11 children.
