CIA Director Bill Burns traveled to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his intelligence counterparts on Tuesday, November 15.

This was reported by CNN with reference to a U.S. official, according to Ukrinform.

The official said that Burns was safely in the U.S. Embassy during Russian missile strikes across the country.

“The CIA director’s trip to Kyiv came on the heels of a meeting in Ankara, Turkey, with his Russian intelligence counterpart, Sergey Naryshkin – and it is the second known time in less than a month that he has visited Kyiv,” the report says.

According to the official, Burns in Kyiv “discussed the US warning he delivered to the head of Russia’s SVR not to use nuclear weapons and reinforced the US commitment to provide support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.”

As Ukrinform reported, CIA Director Bill Burns in early October visited Ukraine on an unannounced visit to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and other officials.

On November 15, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine, hitting infrastructure facilities and residential buildings. Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down more than 70 out of more than 90 missiles launched by Russia.
