Twenty Ukrainian soldiers freed from Russian captivity

Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has said that Ukraine returned another 20 soldiers as part of a prisoner swap.

According to Ukrinform, Yermak reported this on Telegram.

"Another prisoner exchange, another moment of joy and understanding that today will be one of the best days in life for many families. We managed to free 20 people from captivity," Yermak said.

According to him, Ukraine returned 14 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four territorial defense soldiers, a National Guard serviceman and a Navy soldier. Among them are people whom the Russians kept in Olenivka, in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Those released are undergoing a medical examination.

Later it emerged that the Ukrainians freed from Russian captivity include servicemen of a patrol battalion of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported this on Telegram.

On October 11, Yermak said that Ukraine returned 32 soldiers and the body of Israeli national Dmytro Fialka as part of a prisoner swap.
