Russian troops damaged over 2,000 buildings in Kyiv region – President’s Office

As a result of Russian shelling, more than 2,000 buildings have been damaged in Kyiv region.

Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"More than 2,000 buildings have been damaged in Kyiv region," the official said.

He also reminded that road repairs are underway to rebuild destroyed bridges and roads in the region. A total of 170 km of roads in Kyiv region have already been cleared, 11 temporary bridges have been constructed. Electricity supply to more than half of the buildings has been resumed.

At the same time, he stressed that mine clearance operations in Kyiv region continues, so visiting recreational sites and forest parks is prohibited.

On February 24, Russia launched a new phase of its eight-year war against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
