Finland provides $50M in aid to Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the issue of counteracting the aggressor with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö and thanked him the allocation of $50 million in aid.

“Discussed with Sauli Niinistö countering the aggressor. Informed about our defense, insidious shelling of Kyiv. Grateful to Finland for allocating $50 million in aid. It’s an effective contribution to the anti-war coalition. We keep working. We need to increase sanctions and defense support for Ukraine,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.

As reported, on February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Missile strikes were launched on a number of Ukrainian cities, and military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were attacked.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 60 battalion tactical groups of Russian troops have been deployed in the territory of Ukraine. The main purpose of their operation is to block Kyiv and create a land corridor to Crimea.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a general mobilization in Ukraine.

On Friday morning, February 25, enemy aircraft was shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the immediate vicinity of Kyiv.
