Russian strike on Kharkiv meat factory kills two, injures seven

Russian forces attacked a meat processing plant in Kharkiv, leaving three women in critical condition after the strike on the enterprise.

According to Ukrinform, the aftermath of the Russian attack was reported on Telegram by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

“Three women are in extremely serious condition and are receiving all necessary medical care. This enterprise has absolutely no connection to military infrastructure. There are also no military facilities nearby. This is deliberate terror against our businesses. The enemy struck in the morning, when people had just arrived at work,” Syniehubov said.

As Anna Hontar, spokeswoman for the regional administration, specified to the agency’s correspondent, a 50-year-old woman is in extremely critical condition and is undergoing surgery. A 44-year-old woman and a 61-year-old woman are also in serious condition, with the latter scheduled for surgery.

The regional department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the strike caused the roof structures of a one-story workshop building to collapse and sparked a fire covering an area of 50 square meters.

“The fire has been extinguished and emergency rescue operations have been completed,” the agency said.

According to the regional police, Russian forces targeted the meat processing plant. Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Article 438 (war crimes) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The strike on the enterprise occurred at around 8:00. Preliminary investigative data indicate that Russians used a Geran‑2 drone, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.

As previously reported, two people were killed and seven others injured as a result of the Russian strike on the civilian enterprise in Kharkiv on the morning of March 11.
