Orikhiv under constant Russian airstrikes, no street fighting in the city, says Voloshyn
Despite regular Russian shelling and airstrikes, no combat clashes have been reported in the city of Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region, and the enemy would have to overcome several lines of defense to advance toward it.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on television by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
“Orikhiv is located up to 15 kilometers from the positions where Russians have been spotted. It is quite far from the front line there. Furthermore, for the enemy to reach Orikhiv, they would need to break through several of our defense lines, take control of a settlement such as Novodanylivka, or somehow infiltrate the area where we are waiting for them; therefore, I have not heard of any street fighting in Orikhiv,” the spokesperson said.
According to him, the city is suffering from enemy shelling, drone strikes, and airstrikes.
“Every day we record massive airstrikes on Orikhiv itself, with 8–15 guided bombs hitting the area, but Orikhiv is an example of our resilience, so Orikhiv is ours,” Voloshyn emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, over the past day, April 26, 241 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front lines; the enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 55 assault operations by the Russian army.
