Ukrainian drone strikes Kasta-2E radar station in Belgorod region
Crews from the 429th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems Achilles struck the Kasta-2E radar station in Volotovo, Belgorod region, Russian Federation, situated 80 km from the Ukrainian border.
According to Ukrinform, the brigade commander, Yurii Fedorenko (callsign “Achilles”), reported this on Telegram.
The Kasta-2E radar can detect and track up to 200 targets within a 150-km radius. This includes, in particular, air targets at extremely low altitudes.
This station serves as the “eyes” of Russian air defense. It enables the early detection of aircraft, missiles, and even drones, serving as an early warning system.
As reported by Ukrinform, on April 16, the Defense Forces struck the Nebo-M radar station in the Chernovets area of the Belgorod region.
