Russian troops strike residential building in Kharkiv, casualties reported

On Friday afternoon, the Russian army struck a residential building in the Kyivskyi district. According to preliminary data, there are casualties.

This was reported on Telegram by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Ukrinform reports.

“The strike hit a residential high-rise building in the Kyiv district of the city. According to preliminary information, there are casualties and significant damage,” Terekhov wrote.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, two powerful explosions were heard in Kharkiv at around 2:30 p.m. However, no air raid alarm was played, and it only began to sound after the second explosion.

As of 2:50 p.m., at least 12 people were known to have been injured, Terekhov said.

As reported, on December 26, 2025, eight people were injured, and two were killed as a result of a Russian strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv.
