Svyrydenko announces launch of 'Design and Build' pilot project
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"The approach to construction is changing: the state will now hold tenders not just for design work, but for the entire implementation of a project — turnkey. This is a European practice known as Design-Build, widely used in the EU as an effective mechanism," Svyrydenko wrote.
According to her, the contractor will be fully responsible for both the development of project documentation and the execution of construction work.
The project will run for two years and will be overseen by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Infrastructure and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, his team, and the Agency for Restoration.
"Ukrainians expect results from the government. That's what we're working for," Svyrydenko said.
Svyrydenko earlier announced that next week the government, in coordination with law enforcement and the National Security and Defense Council, would introduce a one-year moratorium on business inspections.
