Andriy Govorov wins 50m butterfly at European Championships

Ukrainian swimmer Andriy Govorov has won a gold medal in the men's 50m butterfly at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. 

Andriy Govorov, who owns a world record at this distance, finished first in the final with a result of 22.48 seconds (Championship Record). Briton Benjamin Proud was second (22.78) and Russian Oleg Kostin third (22.97).

At the European Championships in Glasgow, Govorov will also perform in the men's 50m freestyle.

Earlier, Ukrainian swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk won two medals at the European Championships - a gold medal in the 400m freestyle and a silver medal in the 1500m freestyle.
