War correspondent rescues child from burning apartment in Kyiv region after Russian strike kills her mother
According to Ukrinform, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
War correspondent Kushnir saved a four-year-old child from a burning apartment building in the Bucha district, where he himself lives, after it caught fire as a result of a Russian attack.
As police reported, a man and a woman were killed in the building as a result of the Russian attack. The four-year-old child was provided with assistance at the scene. Three other people were also injured but refused hospitalization.
According to war correspondent Yuliia Kyriienko, this is not the first time Marian has rescued civilians. Earlier, he evacuated a family with a 12-year-old girl from the front line, from a village where even evacuation teams could no longer reach.
“I have a tactical medical backpack at home, so I ran to help. In the chaos, I saw a door slightly open. Inside the apartment, there was a child on the bed, crying and shouting ‘Mom’…,” the journalist said.
According to him, the fire was spreading so quickly that after he carried the child out and returned, the stairwell was already in flames.
The child is now safe and has been taken by her father. However, her mother was killed.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on January 28, a Russian drone attack in the Kyiv region killed a man and a woman and injured four other people, including two children.
