Another 12 underground hospitals set up in deoccupied Kherson region, Prokudin says
According to Ukrinform, this was announced on air by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
“We are continuing our work in this direction. Currently, 12 more underground hospitals are being set up so that even under shelling, people have access to medical care,” Prokudin said.
He stressed that the difficult security situation and constant Russian attacks have forced a change in approaches to providing medical care. The priority is the safety of doctors and patients.
Currently, 14 underground hospitals have already been set up in the region. There, doctors perform operations, treat various diseases, provide rehabilitation, deliver babies, and people donate blood.
As reported by Ukrinform, almost 700 doctors and over 1,500 mid-level medical workers are employed in healthcare facilities in the Kherson region, but there is a critical need for certain specialists to treat multiple injuries, and there is a shortage of narrow-profile specialists.
