Updated curfew rules introduced in Kyiv

Updated curfew rules have been introduced in Kyiv.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Timur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

The relevant decision was adopted by the Kyiv Defense Council on January 16 in implementation of a government directive.

Under the updated rules, the curfew is not canceled, but necessary exceptions for citizens have been introduced.

In particular, during curfew hours, residents are now allowed to travel on foot or by private transport, including taxis, to a Point of Invincibility or to their homes.

According to Tkachenko, for Kyiv residents this means simple yet important things: being able to get home at night, including from a train that arrives late. It also means being able to find warmth, electricity, and assistance at any time.

Points of Invincibility may now operate 24/7. This applies both to municipal centers and to responsible businesses willing to provide heating, electricity, communications, water, and hot tea.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration called on entrepreneurs to join the effort by opening Points of Invincibility and helping Kyiv residents get through this period via the city’s website.

He emphasized that “security remains a priority. City patrols are being reinforced, and all decisions are being implemented under the supervision of security forces. Therefore, it is necessary to carry an identity document, and for those liable for military service, a military registration document.”

“Continuous inspections of Points of Invincibility are also underway. These must not be merely symbolic locations on a map, but truly functioning support centers for people. We are doing everything necessary to ensure the city is safe and that people are not left alone with their problems,” Tkachenko added.
