Zelensky: Curfew decisions needed to involve businesses in helping people
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“Decisions must be made regarding curfew to make it easier for entrepreneurs to plan their work. And so that business facilities can be used as support points for people. In particular, government officials have already spoken with retail chains,” the President said.
Zelensky said he had instructed Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, and other government officials to be as active as possible in communicating with the public and to provide maximum assistance to communities.
"The day began with a special format—now it will be like this every day—everyone is in touch. A special conference call with everyone responsible for recovery and management in such an emergency situation. Energy, supplies in cities and villages. From the government and the military to the regions, to regional authorities, community leaders. Kyiv and the region, Kharkiv and the region, Dnipropetrovsk region – Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih; Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv," he said.
The president said that certain tasks had been identified and that the government would have to make decisions during the day, primarily to increase electricity imports and all possibilities for backup supply and provision.
“Support points in cities – there are separate tasks for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including providing people with accurate information. So that everyone can call 112 and get help, get information on heating and electricity supply,” Zelensky said.
He said that it is important for state institutions and local authorities to be in full communication with businesses, energy companies, and everyone who can now contribute resources for joint sustainability.
As reported by Ukrinform, the president instructed the government to immediately ensure all decisions to simplify electricity imports.
