As of the morning of January 9, approximately 280,000 users in the Kyiv region were left without power due to adverse weather conditions, and an additional 90,000 were left without power due to a massive Russian attack.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the DTEK Group on its Telegram channel.

It is reported that since January 8, energy companies have been working continuously to mitigate the effects of adverse weather in the Kyiv region. During this time, power has been restored to nearly 60,000 customers.

However, there were power outages in the region due to another massive attack.

“Currently, more than 370,000 families remain without electricity: about 280,000 due to bad weather and another 90,000 due to the consequences of shelling,” DTEK reports.

It is noted that the situation is most difficult in the Boryspil and Brovary districts, where damage from severe weather has been compounded by emergency power cuts resulting from shelling.

A total of 154 teams of power engineers are working to restore the power supply. The bad weather continues, and according to weather forecasters, it is expected to last throughout the day.
